La Traite offers Montrealers a new spin on the diner experience.  Their portions are generous and be prepared for carb loading with any order of fries.  Popular dishes include the smoked meat poutine, the poutine saucisses (poutine with sausages) as well as their signature pizzas.  As for prices, you’re definitely not breaking the bank.  At La Traite you can easily enjoy a meal for under $10.

Located on the corner of Mayor and Bleury in the historic fur district of Montreal and a view of the Quartier des Spectacles area, the restaurant is perfectly located for providing early birds a pleasant sit down breakfast, with all you can drink coffee with your meal, or for late owls – a quick bite to eat before a night out of partying.  But, that’s not all.  Need to get some work done?  Ask the staff for their WIFI code so you can surf the internet or check your email while or after you enjoy your meal.  Unlike other established hot dog joints in Montreal, La Traite offers the best of both worlds for someone wanting to grab a quick bite to eat or those that want to sit back and relax but without having to foot a hefty bill.

There’s a lot going on for this new restaurant that opened in May 2012 and lots more to come.  They’ve just extended their hours and will be offering delivery service.  Soon enough it’ll be a hot spot to watch our beloved HABS take the ice but for now you’ll have to enjoy other sports on their screens.  Keep an eye out for this place that’s perfectly located beside the Imperial and along the path to Place-des-Arts metro on Bleury.

Hours:  Monday to Friday 6am-11pm, Saturday 7am-11pm and Sunday 7am to 8pm.
